Joy Shaiyen is Nigerian Business Executive with extensive experience in Infrastructure Development, Terminal Management as well as Business Development in the Energy industry. She was instrumental to TSL’s Infrastructure Development and Management business offering as well as its LPG Storage Terminal initiative as Lead Analyst reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer. She also led the team that implemented TSL’s transition to ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management Systems and ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Systems.
In 2019, she founded Arcus 360 an Energy Investment and Management company providing Investment, Technical and Management Advisory at different levels of the LPG value chain. By 2021, Arcus invested and is currently operating a 25MT LPG Bottling Plant in Ikorodu, Lagos, Nigeria.
At Women in LPG, she currently provides Strategic Leadership as National Coordinator by articulating and driving the chapter’s objectives which are centered around neutralising gender bias and helping women identify opportunities for growth and participation in a male dominated LPG industry. She is also passionate about raising awareness on the qualities of LPG which make it a suitable transition fuel for meeting Sustainable Development Goals including Poverty Eradication, Gender Equality, Good Health and Well Being, and Climate Action.
She continually contributes her quota to nation building, serving on several Government led interventions and initiatives. She was a project member of the National Domestic LPG Project spearheaded by the Office of the Vice President (2020 -2023) where she was responsible for articulating tailor-made advocacy interventions across the 6 geo-political zones of the country and led the Advocacy Committee of the Lagos State LPG Reforms (2018) where she was overseeing the collation of advocacy policy reforms to be submitted to the Lagos State House of Assembly for adoption.
In 2018, she was recognised by World LP Gas Association as a “Women in LPG” Role Model and by African Shapers in 2021 as one of the top 100 female Oil and Gas executives in Africa. She serves as Treasurer at the Nigeria LP Gas Association and the LPG Group of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry. She holds a Certificate in Financial Management from Cornell University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Lagos State University.
