MaryQueen Damisa is the Head, Legal and Regulatory Affairs at Husk Power Systems. She is an experienced lawyer with over a decade of cognate corporate commercial practice experience encompassing technology, finance, real estate, dispute resolution, company secretarial services, renewable energy, and environmental law. At Husk, she works with the Nigeria Team to drive business growth and sustainability through strategic engagement with relevant government and regulatory agencies as well as key policy makers in the renewable energy sector. She also supports the negotiation of legal contracts for debt and equity financing, while facilitating funding from
other sources. Additionally, she oversees internal control and compliance measures within business units to ensure operational excellence and alignment with regulatory requirements and business objectives.
Prior to joining Husk, she participated in several climate change roundtable discussions, seminars and projects funded by reputable international organizations in collaboration with agencies at national and sub-national government levels. She also worked at two reputable law firms where she advised on several high-profile transactions and holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria and a Master of Laws
degree from the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom
