Oghogho Effiom is a distinguished oil and gas industry leader, with over 22 years of technical experience in the upstream sector. As the Regional Director, Africa for the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), and a member of the SPE International Board, Oghogho plays a pivotal role in driving the advancement of the oil and gas industry across the African continent.
Oghogho’s extensive experience spans offshore drilling operations, reserves estimation, field development and execution, and has been gained through assignments in Nigeria and the United States. She currently holds the position of domestic gas business opportunity manager for SPDC, where she combines her technical and commercial expertise to support Nigeria’s gas utilization aspirations. In this role, she oversees risk management, stakeholder engagement, and budget alignment, ensuring seamless end-to-end integration of these critical elements to facilitate the delivery of gas to domestic markets.
Throughout her illustrious career, Oghogho has received numerous accolades for her outstanding contributions to the industry. She is a multi-award winner, recognized as one of the 100 most influential women in the oil and gas industry in Africa, as well as the recipient of the international professional Grit award, the SPE Regional service award, and the woman in offshore and maritime award. She has also been honored with the prestigious Upstream Impact award and the Development Function Platinum award at Shell.
