Olabanjo Alimi is a seasoned business leader and visionary with a passion for driving growth and innovation in the New Energy sector and beyond. His extensive experience, expertise, and passion for grooming leaders make him an
asset to organization and nation building having had a 20-year + career marked by transformative leadership and impactful projects across various industries. Banjo’s professional journey began in advertising with Troyka Group before transitioning to Total Nigeria Plc, where he worked as a Retail Sales Executive and later repositioned the non-fuels business in conjunction with Total Outre Mer,Paris. He then held leadership roles at Oando Marketing Plc (now NNPC Retail Limited), including Retail Manager, Regional Manager, and Network Development Manager, where he led growth, standards, and controls for the business.
At ENYO Retail & Sales Ltd, Banjo became the founding Head of Sales and Marketing while doubling as Managing Director of Vehicon, the automotive and aftermarket arm of the business. He later pioneered the Corporate Planning & Strategy department in the same company before his appointment as Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director at Eterna Plc in 2021. Additionally, he co-founded Hoota Technologies, where he serves as a Non-Executive Director.
Throughout his career, Banjo has demonstrated expertise in strategy and business/digital transformation, product development, retail and C&I sales, supply chain, operations, and marketing. He also has proven ability to organize
and evolve teams, construct actionable vision boards, and drive business units to profitability. His interests lie in re-imagining business models for growth and scale, leveraging people and technology.
Banjo’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Bayero University, Kano, certifications from Lagos Business School, University of Cambridge, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a membership with the Future London Academy.
He currently leads the Renewable Energy, Mobility, and Tourism sectors at Sterling Bank, driving the energy transition plan for power, electric mobility, and PUBLIC clean cooking, founding, or co-founding such offerings as QORAY, Imperium, TORRISTA amongst others
