Oluwatoyin Abegunde

Oluwatoyin Abegunde (Toyin) is an Executive Director in the Gas Power business of General Electric where she is responsible for the go-to-market strategy, commercial growth and market penetration of GE’s Aeroderivative gas turbines in Sub-Sahara Africa. She has over 18 years of commercial leadership experience spanning strategic sales and business development, project development and key customer/channel partner management in the Sub-Sahara Africa Energy industry. Toyin is very passionate about developing innovative, suitable commercial and technical solutions to bridge the huge electricity demand-supply gap and accessibility issues in the SSA region. 

Alongside her professional engagements, Toyin is also actively involved in mentoring and inspiring young professionals in the Energy sector. She is a strong advocate for empowering women and getting more women involved in STEM education from an early stage. 

Toyin holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Chemical Engineering, a Masters in Process Engineering, both from the University of Lagos, Akoka and an MBA from Business School Netherlands.
