Prof. Yemi Oke had his LL.M and PhD degrees from Osgoode Hall Law School, York University, Canada; LL.B from University of Ilorin, Nigeria; B.L. from the Nigerian Law School, Abuja.
He is a Professor of Energy/Electricity Law and pioneering specialist and leading expert/scholar in Oil & Gas, Energy and Electricity Law in Africa. He has authored several books on the subjects. He is an internationally renowned scholar and has authored numerous other legal writings under various headings of Energy Resources, including Electricity Law and Regulation, International Environmental Law, Climate Change Law, Project Finance, Oil & Gas and Minerals and Mining Law.
Prof Oke has 10 law books and about 100 published foreign and local articles in his areas of specialisation.
He was at various times counsel in leading law firms in Nigeria including Chief Rotimi Williams’ Chambers; Babalakin & Co; Olaniwun Ajayi and KPMG Nigeria. In the course of his graduate studies, he taught at the York University and Ryerson University both in Ontario, Canada before joining the Faculty of Law, University of Lagos. Prof. Yemi Oke is also the Managing Partner and Founding Principal, MJS Partners (a firm of Legal Practitioners & Consultants).
