Yemisi is a partner and co-head of the energy and natural resources practice at Templars. She also oversees the integrated gas practice of Templars. She holds a Master of Science (with distinction) in Energy Studies from the University of Dundee, Scotland, and a Master of Laws in Commercial Law from Cardiff Law School, Wales.
Yemisi continues to be respected for her deep understanding of the legal and commercial underpinnings of the Nigerian petroleum sector and has extensive specialist experience advising on all aspects of project development and advisory transactions across the oil and gas value chain.
She comes with complete cycle experience across her focal sectors and advises routinely on acquisition and acquisition financing in the energy sector. She has been involved in numerous high-profile deals, which also double as the firsts in her focal sectors. She is renowned, by her project sponsor clientele, for having a keen eye for prioritising project bankability through risk evaluation and contractual risk mitigation.
She has been consistently ranked by international directories, including Chambers Global Guideand the IFLR1000, which recognises her as a highly regarded leading lawyer and describes her as “excellent”. Yemisi was recently ranked by the International Financial Law Review 1000 (“IFLR”) as one of the “Women Leaders” in 2022 – an elite ranking category reserved for the most prominent women lawyers across the world working in the areas of law.
In recent years, Yemisi has focused on integrated oil and gas commercialisation projects, crude oil evacuation systems, acquisition of oil and gas assets, structured financing for energy projects, gas project conceptualisation studies, and regulatory matters within the petroleum sector.
